First, it's a cliffhanger, clearly to entice the reader to pick up the sequel. You never get to see how fans, Blue's team mates, Kelly's colleagues, or their families react to their relationship because it ends before they reveal it. Speaking of which, they're planning to keep the relationship hidden. And it's Kelly's idea. There is also no introduction of Blue's mother. So the resolution of all these things must be in Book 2.Secondly, I didn't wanna read about all Blue's M/F conquests any more than I wanted to read about Kelly sleeping with his colleague and going out on 2 dates. All of that was just filler, and annoying filler, at that. The character development was virtually non-existent. None of the secondary characters were likeable, but I guess it doesn't matter when the MCs aren't either. I may read Book 2 just to see how it turns out or if the story gets any better. I just expected more from this author.
